Íæż½ã½ã College of Fellows
The Íæż½ã½ã College of Fellows was established to recognize individual members who have made significant contributions to the PM/CM profession, the industry, and the association. Selection as a Fellow is amongst the highest honors that Íæż½ã½ã can bestow on an individual member.
Purpose and Goals
The College of Fellows contributes to the growth and development of the professional practice of program and construction management.
The goals of the College of Fellows are:
a) To mentor future leaders within the profession and the association by sharing their knowledge and experience;
b) To provide thought leadership to identify and address the challenges facing program and construction management professionals;
c) To take an active role in the continued growth and development of Íæż½ã½ã by providing advice and counsel on issues of strategic importance; and
d) To take an active role in defining and documenting the continuing development of the profession and its essential value to the industry.
History
The Construction Management Association of America (Íæż½ã½ã) Board of Directors established the College of Fellows as a distinguished institution to recognize Íæż½ã½ã members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the program and the project/construction management (PM/CM) profession. This recognition highlights their pivotal contributions to the industry's growth and development and their unwavering support for Íæż½ã½ã's mission and initiatives.
The College of Fellows began with its first inductees, Jerve Jones and Richard Schultz, who were inducted into this esteemed circle in 1987. In subsequent years, notable industry leaders such as Richard Maes in 1988 and Thomas Driscoll in 1989 joined their ranks. These trailblazers set the foundation for a legacy of excellence and commitment, which has grown to encompass 87 active Fellows today.
Each Fellow embodies the highest standards of professionalism and achievement, contributing their expertise and insights to advance the PM/CM profession and mentor future leaders. Through their dedication, the College not only honors individual excellence but also shapes the strategic direction of the construction management industry.

Fellows Scholarship Fund
The Fellows Scholarship Fund was established to aid students pursuing postsecondary education that is intended to lead to a construction management career. Students must be enrolled at institutions based in the U.S. that are accredited by a U.S. regional accrediting agency.
Ìý
This endowed scholarship is given annually in recognition of those Fellows who have gone before. Criteria for awarding scholarships are set by the Foundation Board of Directors, who will also review applications and make the selections; the program is managed by the Foundation’s staff.Ìý
College of Fellows Nomination and Selection
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Fellow of the Construction Management Association of America (Íæż½ã½ã).
Ìý
The purpose of Phase 1 is to aid interested candidates and nominators in understanding the role and purpose of the College of Fellows and in preparing a nomination dossier that is responsive to the criteria. All candidates must complete Phase 1.
Ìý
In this phase, candidates or nominators indicate interest in becoming a Fellow or nominating a member for Fellowship. Initial submissions are assigned to at least two Fellows who are responsible for identifying a mentor from among the current Fellows.
Ìý
The role of the mentor is advisory only. Their role is not to make a judgement about a candidate's qualifications or readiness. Mentors are not responsible for the final selection of a candidate and any mentor who serves on the Fellows Nomination Committee is required to recuse themselves from the committee's deliberations on any candidate they mentored in Phase 1.ÌýFurther, nominators and candidates are not obligated to accept a mentor's advice and may request a different mentor.
Submissions received for Phase 1 will now be considered for the FY26 Selection Year.

Career Guide
Several of the Íæż½ã½ã College of Fellows were instrumental in creating a career guide titled "What's Your Construction Management VQ" which can be purchased in the Íæż½ã½ã Bookstore.Ìý
There are two reasons the authors chose the title What is your Construction Management ÌýVQ Ìý(Value ÌýQuotient)? It completes Ìýa Ìýtrilogy, Ìýcomplementing Ìýtwo Ìýother publications - "What is your Construction Management IQ?" and "What is your Construction Management EQ?" ÌýAlso, and most importantly, a Ìýcareer Ìýguide Ìýimplies Ìýa Ìýfocus Ìýon Ìýan Ìýearly career, Ìýhowever, Ìýthis Ìýdocument Ìýis Ìýintended Ìýas a guide to benefit a professional construction manager at any career phase since value is timeless.Ìý
